Intensive Care One Day School
Our one day intensive care fly fishing schools are designed to give our students a very detailed look at the mechanics of our sport. Your day starts with a look at and the explanation of the basic outfit, followed by your first casting lesson on our casting ponds. We feel strongly that the cast its self is the essence of fly fishing. Then your morning will continue with a head to toe description of the essential gear that we use. We cover knot tying, choosing the right flies, and then end the morning with another casting and short fishing lesson on our spring ponds. After lunch, which is included, we head to the stream where your instructor will show you how to read water and find fish, you’ll work on presentation which is more often the key to success. You’ll learn how to fish dry’s and nymphs and how to retrieve streamers and cover water. There’s a lot to absorb and we want you to leave with the basics of what it takes to fish on your own.
This is a program designed for one or two people with plenty of personal attention. One instructor/guide. The cost is $450 for one person, $550 for two. The day starts at 9:00AM concludes at approximately 5:00.
Equipment and lunch are included. If you have your own tackle, we suggest an 8-1/2' or 9' rod with a #5 floating line. Participants should wear shoes suitable for wet grass and ponds and bring a jacket, raincoat, cap, and polarized sunglasses.
Not included is your guide tip or PA Fishing License with trout permit which can be purchased online at https://huntfish.pa.gov/
