The first thing any good guide does to start his day is make sure he's put sunscreen on and just as important that he has his polarized sunglasses. As guides, our job is to find clients fish. In my case, my favorite days are with a client who wants to site fish. For years I wore Smith sunglasses and swore by them. But a year ago I was lucky enough to try a pair of the new Bajio sunglasses. I was absolutely amazed at how well they defined the stream bottom. They offered a shade called Violet- it's a high contrast lens that I've learned to live by. I've used it in both fresh and salt, with incredible results. I am now happy to be a Bajio dealer and we have the Bajio Nato Violet Mirror Poly in stock. Their larger frame allows for far greater coverage and they are the most comforatable sunglass I've ever worn. If you're like me, and sight fishing or trout hunting is your game, there's simply nothing better out there to give you an advantage when it comes to seeing fish.

On The Horizon- Tarpon fishing in Puerto Rico
I'm putting together an exploratory trip for February 2026 to Flats fishing in Puerto Rico. My trip coordinator and friend, Hank Ingram, at Frontiers just visited this fishery and couldn't say enough good things about it. He was jumping up to 30 fish a day. These are baby tarpon- up to 50 lbs - and I'm told there were also shots at permit as well. Puerto Rico is an easy to get to destination and as you know, I love exploratory trips. We're in the process of setting the dates in cement. If you have any interest at all, please drop me a line or give me a call. For now, I'm headed back to Argentina to host another Golden Dorado trip then home for a short stay before I go back to Patagonia hosting at San Huberto, then the Limay River Lodge, and finally to one of my favorite places in the world, Tecka.
I will be guiding here at home from April through early June. I still have some dates available. You can contact Susie here at our office if you're interested in fishing with me.
