IRELAND UPDATE
Most trips just go too fast and June's Ireland trip was no exception. There's always the packing, the anticipation and then you’re in the air and finally on the ground in Dublin, Ireland. At that point we load up our group of guests and head to Clonmel and our Hotel Minella which will be our headquarters for the next six days. To say we had great weather is an understatement, the fishing was over the top and our host, Andrew Ryan and his guides did a fantastic job for our group. We truly enjoyed the week
Ryan in my opinion is one of the best guides and outfitters that I have ever worked with in Europe. Along with his guiding skills, Andrew runs the Clonanav Fly Fishing Centre, an over-the-top fly shop, that offers guiding, fly fishing schools, and individual instruction. His inventory of fly tying material and hooks is endless including some very hard to find feathers and some of the best CDC feathers that I have ever tied with. Check Andrew out at www.flyfishingireland.com, He mails to the states, and he certainly has my endorsement.
Back to the fishing and touring- this is the perfect trip for a non-fishing spouse or companion where you can fish Andrew's private beats on the Nire and the Suir, two of the best rivers in Ireland and your non fishing companion has a list of potential sightseeing list that should please anyone. I will again be hosting a June departure in 2025 to Ireland and would love to have you join me. For further information please contact Kristine Fitzgerald at Frontiers toll free 800 245 1950 or give me a shout at my office phone 570 925 2392.
FISHING CREEK
While I am writing this, it is raining outside my cabin's door which will keep our water temperatures cool enough to guide on our private water here on Fishing Creek for at least the next few weeks. I took a few hours off this morning and went fishing and was happy to find a good number of fish sipping small rusty spinners. Call Susie at the office- 570 925 2392 to set up a guided day with one of our seasoned guides or for a day of instruction. This has been a good season so far let’s hope it continues thru the summer.
I will be headed to Africa next week and will be hosting two photo safaris for the month of July then back home and on to two weeks on Montana’s Bighorn River. I will be guiding here at home, water levels permitting in late September and October so if your interested in spending a day with me on Fishing Creek please contact the office to set up a date. Both Susie and Brooke keep things going here while I am traveling. My house sitters will take over keeping an eye on the cabin, but they do not answer the office number.
I have a full itinerary of hosted trips for 2025 coming to the website soon so keep an eye out for that or check it out on Frontiers hosted trips. Hope you can join me on one.
