Update from Barry

brooke340

I received this from Barry last week:

Just touching base letting all my friends know that I'm hosting a group at Pira Lodge in northern Argentina and in my estimation this is some of the best Dorado fishing in the world and the fact that it takes place in the Iberia Marsh makes it just that much more special. Our temperature is 90 degrees as I write this. Yesterday our group boated 191 Golden Dorado. That's an incredible number. These are hard fighting, hot jumping, beautiful fish. A lot of those were caught on mice patterns on the surface. To watch a Dorado come up and eat a mouse pattern is something to be seen. It's an explosive take, followed by numerous jumps.

Larry Cooney is my fishing partner and those of you who know Larry, know how excited he can get when he hooks a good fish. Yesterday he turned around and said, "After landing 28 fish, I think I've caught enough!"

I'm here for 2 weeks. The first group will leave soon and the next group will arrive. Then I go home for 2 weeks. The plan is to come back with a a few more friends and fish a different section of the marsh. If anybody has some time, I think we have a room open on the February trip at a different destination. For more information on that, you can contact my friend and my trip coordinator Hank Ingram at Frontiers. 800-245-1950

I'm headed back to the boat launch to finish afternoon fishing. For those of you in cold weather, I wish you were here. 90 degrees is not hard to take from the 2 degrees at my cabin in the mountains of Pennsylvania.

Thanks for checking in.

-Barry
